My First Gallery Window

Three paintings and the silo lamp brought together in a full gallery window in Stubbekøbing.

This is my first exhibition: an entire window at the small Galleri Theilgaards in Stubbekøbing. Here, my paintings and a sculptural light work meet outside the studio for the first time — not as separate works, but as a small exhibition with an atmosphere of its own.

The days leading up to the exhibition were intense. The paintings had to be completed, the silo lamp had to glow, and every element had to find its place before Folkets Folkemøde filled Stubbekøbing on 19 September 2026. The public gathering brings together conversations, workshops and a market with a focus on civil society, culture and nature. The window became my small contribution to a town opening itself to ideas, community and curiosity.

At the centre of the window stands the silo lamp, inspired by the old silo on Stubbekøbing Harbour. The lamp has its own project page, where the idea, materials and making of the illuminated structure can be explored.

About Haaland Studio

One person. Many expressions.

My name is Jimmi Haaland, and Haaland Studio is me. In my small Copenhagen studio, I do all the work myself — from the first idea and experiments with materials to the finished piece. There is no team of designers or production line behind the scenes. These are my hands painting, printing, shaping and building.

I work with paintings, Japanese nature prints, lamps and sculptural projects. For me, they are connected by a curiosity about materials, shapes and stories. Some ideas become a painting; others take shape in paper, yarn or light. I let the idea lead the way rather than stay with one particular technique.

Everything is made by hand, as individual works or small series — never mass-produced. The small differences and traces of the making are allowed to remain. And when you write to Haaland Studio, I am the one who replies.
